No Such Thing As A Gruffalo?

With it being half term and Husband off work, we were looking for fun things to do that don't cost the earth. A quick look online and we discovered the Gruffalo trail in the Forest of Dean. Well both girls love the story (as do Mummy and Daddy) and its free for under 5's so off we went.

Clearly sign posted, it was easy to find and we were thrilled with what we found. Despite it being a bit of a damp and foggy day there was plenty to keep us all occupied. A pretty walk, various trails, animals (dead and alive!), an interactive center and a cafe kept us busy all afternoon. Oh and course the highlight was the Gruffalo trail itself.

Following the story you walk along a pretty, scenic woodland trail to discover mouse, fox, snake and owl along with the Grffalo himself.

The girls had great fun running along to each scene and didn't mind that it was wet and muddy. Due to the weather conditions the adventure playground was closed but even that didn't dampen their spirits.

We were also pleased to see the trials were all pram/buggy friendly too, meaning Daisy happily slept through most of it.

As you can see from the photos we enjoyed a lovely family day out and will be going back again.
