30 Weeks – My Bump Diary

I’ve finally made it to 30 weeks and only have approximately 10 to go yeeehhh!!

Apparently our baby is now the size of a cucumber that’s approximately 15.2 -16.7 inches and weighing about 2.5-3.8 lb. She is also strong enough to grasp a finger now.

According to the BabyCentre UK

From now on, your baby will gain weight fast. Her lungs and digestive tract are nearly mature and she’s probably been able to open and shut her eyes for a while now, so she can see inside you. If you shine a light on your stomach, your baby may even reach out to touch the moving glow.

I am feeling very pregnant now, as you can see from this picture my bump has exploded out! The funny thing is people keep telling me that I have a neat bump and its not that big…Husband and I look at each other in amazement saying  ”What”?

On Sunday I overdid it a bit and really thought she was coming. I was getting pretty painful Braxton hicks, palpitations, felt sick and generally just didn’t feel right. That’s all stopped now but I am generally feeling more uncomfortable, finding it difficult to sleep, am getting breathless and just feel huge.

I have also been a bit stressed out and emotional, although that seems to be calming down a bit now. I have dealt with my stress by giving myself a kick up the bottom and getting organised.  I have been washing and ironing baby clothes and cleared out one of my warbrobes so they could all go away neatly and organised.

By the end of the week I plan to have my hospital bag packed and a few other bits done too.

I am starting to get anxious about the actual giving birth bit now. Its not helped by the fact that I don’t know where I will be giving birth still. We find out in the next two weeks if we are moving before or after the baby is due. I love the idea of a water birth but both the girls were late and I was induced so we will have to wait to see.

I am just keen to meet the little lady now. The girls are also very excited too. They have seen all the baby bits coming out now and Poppy keeps telling me the bump is going to “pop” soon.

Hoping the weeks continue to fly like this.

Ooh Karen you look fab! It’s great to see a bump picture and you look radiant. Sorry to hear you have been stressed :-) pregnancy hormones have a lot to answer for and I can imagine everything gets on top of you with 2 children to look after already. I found organising kept me more calm and focused. There is something about getting all the hospital bag ready feeling kind of therapeutic – a control mechanism. Not long at all now, July will soon be here :-) xx
